The future vice president supported the invasion of Iraq and regularly voted against any plans to withdraw American soldiers from that country. In his opinion, the Islamic State terrorist organization (ISIS, banned in Russia) arose precisely because Washington had withdrawn troops from Iraq too early. He also approved the overthrow of the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. Pence also believes it is necessary to keep the Guantanamo prison.

As for Russia, Pence does not consider it a competitor of the United States: “America is stronger than Russia, our economy is more than 16 in their economy, the American political system is better than the Russian corrupt rogue capitalism”. In his opinion, it is necessary to talk with Vladimir Putin from a position of strength. A Republican criticized Barack Obama for not being able to show sufficient firmness in the dialogue with Moscow.

The names of the other two members of the Trump team became known only recently: 13 November announced that the head of the national committee of the Republican party Raines Pribus was appointed head of the presidential administration, and Stephen Bannon, a businessman and former editor-in-chief of the far-right news site of the Breitbart, will take the post of senior adviser.

It is known that Pribus’s candidacy was recommended to Trump by the leadership of the Republican Party. “Raines was the best candidate. He is loved in Congress, he has excellent relations with [Speaker of the House of Representatives] Paul Ryan, ”one of the informed Republicans told Politico. Bannon recalled an episode of domestic violence: 20 years ago, his wife called the police and reported that he grabbed her neck and wrist when they were arguing about family finances. The experts found traces of injuries on the woman’s body and gave the case a turn, but Bannon’s wife did not appear at the court, and did not receive the continuation process. The former wife of the politician also claimed that he did not want to give his son to one of the nearby schools, because there are many Jews there.

The anti-extremist NGO Southern Poverty Law Center believes that Bannon made Breitbart a refuge for racists. The organization approved the boycott of the mainstream media, because he once suggested that there is a direct connection between belonging to a particular race and the level of intelligence.

The Anti-Defamation League has also contributed to the fight against anti-Semitism: according to its experts, the figure of Bannon "is associated with shameless anti-Semitism and racism." The situation is complicated by the fact that the headquarters of Trump decided not to allow the media to interview Bannon. Kelliann Conway, Trump’s campaign manager, explained in an interview with NBC: “I assure you that he’s not scary at all, he’s a very smart tactician, but not everyone wants publicity.”

A rare opportunity to understand what Bannon really thinks about, provided the portal BuzzFeed, having published a transcript of Skype-speech by Trump's senior adviser at the Vatican in 2014, with the support of the Human Dignity Institute conference of new European right.

In communicating with delegates, Bannon speaks very warmly of the “enlightened capitalism” based on Judeo-Christian teaching, which dominated Europe in the 20th century and worked in such a way that most of the national income was received by the middle class, but the whole people were enriched.

Then, however, the “enlightened capitalism” appeared influential opponents. One of them was the “capitalism of crooks”, which lifted its head in China and Russia, in which a narrow stratum of people seizes power and forces the system to work only for its own enrichment. The second is “libertarian capitalism”, which treats people as a commodity and does not differentiate between representatives of different nations. The third is secularization, undermining the foundations of the Judeo-Christian world, and the fourth is “radical Islamic fascism,” taking advantage of the spiritual weakness of modern society and waging war against the Western world.

According to Bannon, the answer to these threats was the emergence of the new right: the National Front party in France, the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) in the UK and others. Moreover, he believes that racists and anti-Semites among the new right are pariahs, who over time will be driven out of these movements in the course of ideological self-purification.

Pribusu and Bannon managed to maintain the appearance of unity during the primaries, but it is not yet clear whether they can get along while working in the Trump administration.

Other posts in the team of the new American leader are still vacant. Particular attention is focused on the post of state secretary. If at first “traditional Republicans” (like the former Speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich) were predicted on this place, then November 15, according to Associated Press, Trump's old ally Rudolph Giuliani became a favorite.

There are debates about the position of the head of the Pentagon: The Washington Post wrote that the secretary of defense could be Kelly Ayotte, the outgoing senator from New Hampshire, a representative of the establishment with “hawkish” views (Ayotte, for example, called for more active intervention in the situation in Syria). Appointment of a woman as head of the Pentagon will help Trump protest opponents who call him a sexist.

Her main rival is Jeff Sessions, Alabama’s junior senator from Alabama, who was one of the first to support the tycoon and advise him on limiting migration and border security during the presidential race.

The candidacy of the former head of military intelligence, Michael Flynn, who was sent for resigning and criticizing the White House, was discussed for a long time. No less important is the figure of the Minister of Finance: Trump's supporters fear that the appointment of a famous banker to this post will symbolize the union of the new president with large banks and, accordingly, the establishment.

They have reason to be alarmed - billionaire Karl Aiken wrote in his Twitterthat he spoke with Trump, and he plans to entrust the leadership of the finance ministry to millionaire banker Stephen Mchnachin - he was in charge of the financial affairs of the Republican election campaign.
