The President of the United States today announced the death of DACA - programs to protect against the deportation of illegal immigrants, the so-called "dreamers" who were illegally brought to America by their parents.

In recent months, the program has become a stumbling block on Capitol Hill: Donald Trump wants to implement an immigration reform, and the Democrats have almost agreed to a number of concessions. “DACA is dead, the Democrats are to blame, and Mexico is not doing anything to stop the flow of illegal immigrants to the US!”, - this is how you can briefly describe a whole series of messages from the American leader on his Twitter over the past weekend.

Trump spoke about illegal immigrants even on the way to the church on Sunday Easter service.

“A lot of people are coming because they want to take advantage of DACA. They had a chance, they missed it,” said the US President.

The Trump administration began the process of canceling the program to protect young illegal immigrants from deportation as early as last fall. DACA stands for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. In Russian, the construction sounds hard and not very clear: “deferred actions in relation to arrivals at children's age”. The criteria for DACA are clear and unambiguous - this program includes those who:

1. Arrived in the USA before 16 years;

2. 15 June 2012 has not yet turned 31;

3. He is studying at school or has already received a certificate of maturity and is going to continue his studies at the university;

4. Does not have a criminal past.

Having received legal, albeit temporary status, children of illegal immigrants could study in universities and work without fear of being deported. In total it is about 800 thousand people. The program was supposed to end at the beginning of March, but federal judges in several states decided that some DACA provisions should remain in force until the end of legal proceedings on this matter.

And now, according to Trump, the American dream of the “dreamers” was murdered by the Democrats. Representatives of the “donkey party” remind that they have already agreed to finance measures to enhance border security, but, of course, they did not kill DACA.

“The president keeps repeating the same thing, and there is not a shred of truth in it. It's all just a ploy. The president will say anything in hopes of getting money for a border wall,” said Steve Cohen, a Democratic congressman.

In addition, according to Democrats, the flow of immigrants across the US-Mexican border is decreasing, and not increasing, as the president claims.

“The flow of immigrants through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and other border states has decreased. Immigrants arrive in the country through other routes. The facts contradict what the president says,” said Bill Richardson, former governor of New Mexico.

Nevertheless, Trump even threatens to break the trade agreement with Mexico, if it does not make more efforts to protect the border with the United States. Apparently, the head of state speaks of NAFTA - a free trade agreement between the countries of North America. Currently, Canada, the United States and Mexico are still negotiating to revise the terms of this agreement.

In addition, Donald Trump calls on senators to resort to the so-called “nuclear” option of voting on the issue of toughening immigration laws. The “nuclear” option in the United States is called the parliamentary procedure, which allows the Senate to decide by simple majority. At the moment, at least 60 members of the U.K. Congress must support it to approve any document.
