To be honest, I thought about it in the same way, moreover, I was afraid, did not even dare to think about it. How to think about it after hearing so many “friendly advice” from your friends or friends who are exhausted by the constant hard physical labor. There were many different weighty and imaginary reasons and excuses that prevented me from clearly thinking and planning, step by step, the path to achieving my goal. Like everyone, it was hard for me. During the first year of my immigration, I was balancing between the work of a cleaning woman, an assistant accountant, a manicurist, and even passed a test to become a postman.

I tried to find something, any job, not at all in my specialty and not paying attention to my education and personal interests. I ran for a salary and was ready to do any job, even the one I don’t like, but which will provide for me and my daughter, because at that time I was a single mom.

Time passed and nothing changed in my life. I was lost, upset, unhappy and I was going to admit that America was not for me. In the meantime, my daughter was growing up, and, being an old school by my mother from a hereditary dynasty of teachers, was very active in my daughter’s school and supported her with all she could. At one such meeting with my parents, I was asked to become a volunteer. Since this was my day off, I happily agreed to help.

During the open day, the whole school celebrated and celebrated the uniqueness of people from different cultures, and then we had a food festival. During this holiday, I noticed the friendly relations of people of different nationalities and how positive and benevolent they were, despite their belonging to different nationalities in different parts of the world. Being impressed, I became a little bolder and asked the teacher of my daughter what I should do in order to become at least an assistant teacher. She replied that she did not know for sure, since she had a financier education and she became a teacher after the completion of the retraining program. She also added that in any case I must pass the test. She did not specify which test, his name and what should I do to get the right to work at school.

8) What salary can I get? Your salary will range from 30 to 45 thousand per year, depending on your previous experience and education.

9) What are the duties of a teacher's assistant? Basically, you will assist the class teacher in all aspects of the work, and will also help the newly arrived students adapt to the new learning environment.

10) Can knowledge of several foreign languages ​​be useful? Yes, they will be your pass-through ticket to the education system, since today there is a great shortage of specialists who speak the native languages ​​of newly arrived students.
