How past lottery winners spent their winnings
When Rick and Laurie won the 180 million jackpot, journalists asked them what they would spend first.
“We've lived in the same house for 23 years, so we're looking to move to a bigger house,” Rick said.
More is not the right word. They built a huge house measuring more than one and a half thousand square meters at an altitude of almost 2 thousand meters. The house is located on Oak Glen Mountain in California, on a plot of 400 hectares.
Nevertheless, the happy owners of the house decided to sell it.
“They have come to a period in life when they want to live more modestly. In addition, their son has heart problems and an altitude of 2 thousand meters is too difficult for him,” said Rick Crandsen’s sister.
“It was his dream to buy a house like this. And now that he had done it, it was time to move on,” recalls real estate agent Craig Strawn.
The house has a garage for 6 machines, a gym and a cinema for 17 seats. A house and a buffalo farm are also included with the house.
If you are thinking of buying a house, it will cost you a pretty penny, or rather 26 million dollars.
Well, the Knadsen family is going to build a smaller house with an area of 500-600 square meters.
Most of the lucky winners of jackpots live in the state of Pennsylvania. If you believe the statistics, in 70% of cases won tickets, numbers in which you trusted to choose a computer. At the same time, almost half of the winners managed to spend their winnings over 5 years.
