The release date of the eighth book about Harry Potter has become known.

The eighth book in the Harry Potter series will be released on July 31, publisher Little, Brown and Company announced. It will be the play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child".

The book will go on sale the day after the play premieres at the Palace Theater in London's West End.

The action takes place 19 years after the events of the book “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”.

By this time, Potter is already becoming a father, working in the Ministry of Magic and raising three children of school age.

The play was first announced in December 2013, after the writer reported that she received innumerable requests to turn the story of Harry Potter into a theatrical production.

The play itself was written by Rowling in collaboration with screenwriter and BAFTA award winner Jack Thorn and John Tiffany, who will also direct the production.

As Rowling herself said, the play does not yet contain a part of the Harry Potter story, including the life story of his fallen parents.

Earlier became the performers of the main roles in the production. So, Hermione Granger will play 45-year-old black actress Nome Dumezveni. In the Harry Potter films, this role was played by Emma Watson.

The grown-up Harry will be played by 36-year-old actor Jamie Parker in the play, and 34-year-old Paul Thornley will play Ron Weasley.

The electronic version of the book will be released simultaneously with the paper.

"JK Rowling and her team have received a huge number of requests from fans who can't travel to London to see the play to read it in book form, so we're thrilled to be able to print it for them," said Little's chief executive. , Brown Book Group David Shelley.

The special rehearsal edition of the text of the play will be its preliminary version, and it will undergo changes before the official publication is released.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will begin previews in May at London's Palace Theatre, opening on July 30.

The book will go on sale July 31 immediately after midnight.
