Israel will send a self-propelled device to the moon for the first time
The first Israeli device for exploring the moon will launch in December of this year. A month before launch, Israel will transmit the US spacecraft, after which the Ilona Mask company will launch it into space on a Falcon 9 rocket. Planetary moon landing is scheduled for February 13 2019.
The project is run by the Israeli non-profit organization SpaceIL, notes Rtvi. The spacecraft is built by Israel Aerospace Industries. In November, it will be given to the United States. According to the newspaper, the device is planning to launch into space the rocket Falcon 9 of the company Ilona Mask SpaceX.
According to SpaceIL forecasts, the landing of the moon rocket is scheduled for February 13 on 2019.
According to the newspaper, the device will be separated from the spacecraft at an altitude of 60 thousand km from the surface of the Moon. After that, it will move in an elliptical orbit of the Earth until it falls into the gravitational field of the moon. After landing, the device will conduct a series of scientific experiments.
The total project cost is estimated at 95 million US dollars.
