A rare white alligator stolen from a Florida reserve
Florida police are looking for a criminal who stole a rare white alligator, and then set fire to a building filled with other reptiles, which caused the death of 43 animals in it.
The crime occurred in a reserve in Sumter County, Florida, the crocodiles were in the care of Robbie Keshisa, writes CBS.
Among the dead animals, the owner did not find a rare white spotted alligator with blue eyes, nicknamed "Snowball".
The white alligator was last seen in a structure on 11: 30 22 on June, a fire occurred that day. Among the dead reptiles "Snowball" was not.
Keshis says that after learning about the fire, he rushed to the building to save the animals, but it was too late - the fire was near the door, and the man could not enter the room. His wife called 911 at this time.
Investigators determined that someone had broken the door to the building, used a means to make fire to set fire to the barn, then took “Snowball” and ran away.
According to Keshis, a rare alligator costs around 100 000 dollars.
