Two large supermarkets will close due to Irma in South Florida
In South Florida, due to the powerful hurricane Irma, two large supermarket chains Publix and Winn-Dixie are planning to close their stores.
So, Publix will be open until Friday night at 9 in Miami Deida and Broward and until noon on Saturday in Palm Beach County. Also, at noon on Saturday, three stores will close on Deerfield Beach and two in Cocoon Creek (5365 Lyons Road and 4760 Hillsboro Dish).
In turn, Winn-Dixie did not give the exact time of closing stores.
“Our stores will remain open as long as it is safe for our partners. We will continue to supply stores as long as we can,” said Joe Caldwell, corporate communications manager for Southeastern Grocers.
Southeastern Grocers not only includes Winn-Dixie supermarkets, but also Fresco Y Mas, Winn-Dixie's Hispanic-flavored supermarket, Bi-Lo, and Harvey's. All of these stores will continue to operate as long as possible.
Caldwell advised customers to check up-to-date information about the work of stores on the sites of these networks.
