Abnormally frosty weather with strong winds has been established in Kazakhstan. The air temperature in Astana dropped to -54 degrees Celsius. Also a threat to the lives of people and animals create heavy snowfall. The problem was noticed even in the parliament of the republic, writes EA Daily.

In particular, MP Berik Dusembinov asked Interior Minister Kalmukhanbet Kasymov to plan for the preparation of preemptive events in storms and frost.

“These days, Kazakhstan has faced anomalous frosts that threaten the lives of citizens. Social networks are full of videos with frozen wild and domestic animals, snapshots of thermometers. (...) Since the beginning of winter, rescuers, in cooperation with local executive bodies and road services, evacuated more than 5 500 people, including 439 children, from snowdrifts (...), ”said deputy Dusembinov at a plenary session of the chamber.

According to him, Kazakhstan is experiencing the same situation every year, “when the snow-covered regions come under the power of floods with the arrival of heat, the meltwaters heat and demolish houses, destroy livestock and other property.”

Videos appeared on social networks with frozen animals.

One of the authors, who captured a dog frozen in the snow, noted that the video was recorded in Astana.

“The cold anticyclone will not leave Kazakhstan for the next three days, therefore the severe frosts established in most regions of the republic will remain. Over the past day, the air temperature in the central, southeastern and sometimes southern areas was below the climatic norm by 3 − 8 degrees, and in the northern and eastern ones by 10 − 18 degrees, in the extreme east at 20 − 23 degrees below normal, ”reported weather forecasters.
