But even over the phone it is clear that something is wrong with them, something has changed in them. I thought a lot and talked with those who remained in Russia. And we found several things that “break” Russians in America.

Closeness

At first glance, it is not clear what I am talking about when I say that Americans are a closed people. It seems like the opposite is true. We are from the North, we drink vodka with the bears, and they sunbathe on the beaches of sunny California and enjoy life.

But it is not so. Yes, Russians are cautious and inhospitable with strangers, and Americans, on the contrary, strive to communicate with everyone. But when it comes to close friendships, everything gets upside down.

We treat friends as a family, we tell and worry about each other. And the Americans are cold and closed to relatives.

Even if a person has problems and you ask “How are you?”, you will not hear anything other than “I’m fine.” With us it’s exactly the opposite.

Cult of consumption

Yes, recently the boundaries have been blurred, and we are adopting more and more Western patterns of behavior, but the fact remains. In Russia there is no such cult of consumption as in America.

Life on credit and instant enjoyment. Yes, it's all about America. From time immemorial, we have been more restrained and reasonable.

The simplicity of life attracts loans, but there is no turning back ...
