Ivanka Trump replaced father at the table with world leaders at the G20 summit

The daughter and adviser to US President Ivanka Trump replaced her father at one of the events of the G20 summit in Hamburg (Germany), taking his place at the table with world leaders, writes The Hill.

This was reported in the "Group of Twenty" Svetlana Lukash, published in his microblog Twitter photo, which shows that Ivanka is located between the head of China Xi Jinping and British Prime Minister Teresa Mei.

She later deleted the photo, however, screenshots of its publication were preserved.

Cabinet officials usually replace the president at such sessions if necessary. But Trump decided that his daughter and adviser, not a member of the government, would replace him at this event.

“Ivanka sat in the back and then briefly joined the head table when the President needed to leave,” the White House said in response to the photo.

At this moment, the topic discussed at the table concerned one of Ivanka Trump’s projects - a World Bank financial initiative for women entrepreneurs.

Earlier in the day, Trump announced that the United States would provide 50 millions of dollars to a new World Bank Group institution that would support women entrepreneurs. Trump praised his daughter for being a “strong supporter of women entrepreneurs” for a long time.

“If she weren’t my daughter, it would be a lot easier for her. That may be her only flaw,” Trump joked.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she has nothing against Ivanka’s participation in the summit and her presence at the table with world leaders instead of Donald Trump, writes Boston Globe.

Merkel noted that the delegations themselves will decide who should replace the leader of their country at the main table during his absence.

“Ivanka Trump was a member of the American delegation, so this (her replacement of Donald Trump) is in line with what other delegations are doing. Everyone knows that she works in the White House and is responsible for certain initiatives,” the German Chancellor emphasized.

Ivanka was also present at the summit discussion on migration, problems in Africa and health, her picture was published by Lukas.

The first daughter of the United States also shared in her Instagram photos from the summit, where it is among the world leaders.
