Creative life

Despite the fact that fate was not particularly favorable to her, Nonna Terentyeva still left her mark in the theater and in the cinema, writes Culturology.

Even while she was studying at the Shchukin School, Nonna was noticed by Vladimir Motyl and invited to play a role in his film “Zhenya, Zhenechka and Katyusha.”

Almost simultaneously, the aspiring actress received an offer from Joseph Kheifits - the role of Ekaterina Ivanovna Turkina in the film based on Chekhov's "Ionych" "Once upon a time in the city of S."

Nonna had to make a difficult choice. But, being a fan of the work of Chekhov, she nevertheless decided to accept the offer of Joseph Heifitz.

She had to act with such bright actors as Igor Gorbachev, Anatoly Papanov and Lydia Shtykan.

With her role Nonna handled great. After the premiere of the film, she immediately became famous, there were crowds of fans who were watching her out. And she often had to hide from them, fleeing from school through the back door.

Soon, this picture was decided to be sent to the festival in Cannes for a non-competitive display. The delegation of artists for the presentation of the film included the young Terentieva.

The unusual beauty of our actress did not go unnoticed, Nonna was a welcome guest at all the secular receptions held there. We started dating, among other things, she met the famous actors Simone Signoret and Yves Montand. We talked, and Simone told Nonna: "If your film were in competition, you would surely take the prize for the best female role, for the beauty."

At the end of the school, the actress worked at the Stanislavsky Theater, where Nonnu saw the photographer Vasily Malyshev, who offered to make her a portrait portrait.

And Nonna agreed.

And in 1967, in Paris at the UNESCO exhibition, this work was awarded first place. Foreign spectators admired the refined beauty and elegance of the Russian actress, who is not so similar to the Soviet “Girls with a Paddle” he knew.

It so happened that this photo was placed in one of the newspapers published for American pilots.

All of them were smitten with the beauty of the Russian actress and began to call her just as “the queen of air”. The pilots literally flooded their "queen" with letters, offering her his hand and heart.

Then the whole of American aviation was at the feet of our beauty.

In addition to these letters, the young actress began to receive very attractive offers from Western directors inviting her to shoot in her films. But our cinematograph bureaucrats rejected such proposals on the pretext that the actress was loaded enough.

But it was a lie. In their own country, the directors did not fill up Nonnu Terentiev with offers at all, for ten years she was shot in just a few films, and then only in episodic roles.

Her only serious work in those years was the role of the beauty-adventurer in the film “The collapse of the engineer Garin”, which again brought the actress to the top of fame.

The directors, of course, were admired by the “non-Soviet” beauty of the actress, and they began to offer her the roles of adventurous beauties, cunning and cynical. In similar roles of the same type, she starred in the films of Samson Samsonov "Mad Gold", Eldor Urazbaeva "Transsiberian Express" and Alexander Pankratov-Black "The Adventures of Count Nevzorov" After that, as it often happens, they began to be considered an actress of one role.

At the end of 80, the situation in the country was very difficult. This also affected the cinema, many actors were out of work and had to travel around the country with concerts.

For many, it was very tiring, but not for Nonna.

TV presenter Sergei Mayorov, who knew her, recalled those times in the following way:

“She was our lifeline: she never bargained and rode even to the ends of the earth. And if many artists ached, shaking on a broken road on a small car, she cheered everyone up and joked: “This is lovely! After all, this will never happen again! ”

Stunning outfits "from mom"

Artists had to perform in various places, often on very modest, god-forgotten stages.

But at the same time, Nonna never appeared on the stage in ordinary clothes, a magnificent woman in furs or a magnificent boa made of ostrich feathers, elegant and spectacular, like Marlene Dietrich or Marilyn Monroe always appeared before the audience. And although many of her outfits were already quite worn, the audience did not notice this.

And Nonna's mother, an excellent dressmaker, sewed all these amazing outfits. Former actress, she knew a lot about clothes ...

Nonna had a magnificent voice, at concerts she often performed famous jazz compositions by Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald.

And usually she completed her performance with the song “Kalinushka”, under which the entire audience literally wept ...

Personal life

In 23, Nonna married a graduate student from Kiev, Boris Terentyev.

They had a very big love, their daughter Ksenia was born in marriage, but they did not live together for long. The relationship between them deteriorated, and the couple divorced.

After the divorce, Nonna left the Kiev theater and returned to Moscow. Her colleague Vladimir Skomorovsky, who had become a close and beloved person for Nonna, also moved there. However, some time later Skomorowski left for America, and Nonna remained in Moscow. At first there were frequent letters and dreams of meeting, but gradually love passed, and they parted forever.

And although the beautiful Nonna was never left without male attention, she never managed to arrange her personal life.

And then an insidious disease intervened in her life, about which she did not tell anyone, even to her relatives, and never complained about anything. Anticipating her demise, she sent her daughter Xenia to America.

Nonna Terentyeva passed away on Women's Day - March 8, 1996.
