Study: in the United States, owning an iPhone is considered a sign of wealth
In the US, the presence of an iPhone has become an indicator of citizen's wealth and solvency. A study on this published the National Bureau of Economic Research USA, writes RTVi.
According to researchers, the presence of an iPhone shows that a person wants to appear educated. A sample of 10 thousand Apple smartphone owners in the 2016 study of the year gave researchers the 62% chance of guessing whether a person has a higher education.
Similar studies have been performed three times since 1992. Then the main indicator of wealth was considered the presence of a jar of mustard Gray Poupon Dijon on the table. In 2004, mustard gave way to Land O 'Lakes butter. The last study was conducted in 2016, it was then that the iPhone came out on top.
Apple sold 16 million iPhone Xs in 2018—that's 4,6% of total sales, the company's highest ever. According to the analytical company Strategy Analytics, from January to March this year, 345 million smartphones were sold worldwide
