iPhone will replace cards and terminals: Apple introduced a new contactless payment feature
Apple has announced that it will soon introduce a feature that will allow buyers to pay sellers by holding their iPhones close to each other. Writes about it Business Insider.

The Tap to Pay feature, which is expected to be available later this year, will allow businesses to process transactions in stores by touching their iPhone to a customer's iPhone or Apple Watch.
Apple said the feature will accept contactless credit and debit cards, as well as Apple Pay, Visa, American Express, Mastercard, and Discover. No additional equipment or payment terminal is required.

Apple said Stripe will be the first payment platform to offer Tap to Pay to its customers in the spring, with more platforms to be added later this year.
Customer payment data will be protected in the same way that transaction data is protected with Apple Pay. The company says that all Tap to Pay payments will be encrypted, so no one will know who is buying what.

“Tap to Pay on iPhone will provide businesses with a secure, private and easy way to accept contactless payments. This will unlock new ways to pay with the security and convenience of iPhone,” said Jennifer Bailey, Apple's vice president of Apple Pay.
Apple has said that Tap to Pay will only be available in the US at first.
