Elon Musk challenged Mark Zuckerberg to fight: the fight will be broadcast on social network X (former Twitter)

On June 20, entrepreneur, engineer and billionaire Elon Musk said he was “ready to fight” with American media mogul Zuckerberg, who practices jiu-jitsu. The supposed fight is ready to be broadcast live on its platform by the social network X (formerly Twitter), reports Reuters.

Musk decided to challenge Zuckerberg to a mixed martial arts (MMA) fight amid Meta's launch of Threads, a social networking site that competes with X.

When Elon Musk tweeted that he was "ready to fight" Zuckerberg, the Meta CEO was quick to respond. He posted a screenshot of Musk's tweet with the caption "send me the location."

Musk responded by writing short and clear: “Las Vegas, Octagon” (meaning the event center where mixed martial arts (MMA) championships are held).

The seriousness of the intentions of the two billionaires was confirmed by UFC President Dane White. In his opinion, if this fight really takes place, it will become the most viewed in history.

"A civilized form of war"

Elon Musk revealed on social media that his fight with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg will be streamed live on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

“The Zuk vs. Musk fight will be streamed live on X. All proceeds will go to veterans’ charities,” Musk wrote in a platform X post on the morning of Aug. 6 without giving any details.

Musk previously wrote in X that he was "preparing for battle by lifting weights all day." Since he doesn't have time to train, he brings different equipment to work.

It should be noted that the 51-year-old Musk has an advantage over Zuckerberg in terms of mass. In addition, he said, he was involved in "real violent street fights" while growing up in South Africa.

However, 39-year-old Zuckerberg recently won a jiu-jitsu tournament, reports iXBT. It was revealed last September that the CEO of Meta had taken up mixed martial arts (MMA), and the trainer called him a "silent killer" in the ring. Zuckerberg claims to have recently completed the Murph Challenge in less than 40 minutes. This challenge includes a mile run, 1,6 pull-ups, 100 push-ups, and 200 sit-ups followed by a mile run.

When one of the X users asked Musk what the point of fighting was, Musk told him: “This is a civilized form of war. Men love war."
