Ilon Musk for the first time showed a superfast tunnel near Los Angeles
The founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Ilon Musk, tweeted a video from the world's first underground tunnel for a new high-speed transport.

He called the tunnel “frighteningly long” and recalled the opening of this transport section scheduled for December 10, writes “Radio Liberty«.

It is assumed that in the future cars and unmanned electric buses with passengers will go through the tunnel. With this system, passengers from Los Angeles Airport are expected to be able to reach the city center in 8 minutes. Ticket price will be the entire 1 dollar. According to Mask, the new system will not replace, but complement the existing traditional types of passenger traffic.

The development of transport is engaged in one of the companies Mask - The Boring Company. The electric bus will reach speeds of up to 250 kilometers per hour. The machine can automatically switch between tunnels and elevators that will transport people to the surface.

In the future, the new network of tunnels is planned to be merged with another project, Mask - the vacuum system of ultrahigh-speed trains Hyperloop, which are supposed to be able to travel at speeds up to 1200 km per hour.

On tests, prototypes showed speeds of more than 300 kilometers per hour. The world's first Hyperloop route will be laid between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The path of long 139 kilometers can be covered in just 12 minutes.
The tunnel was built two years after Musk announced the project. Last year, the authorities gave permission to build a tunnel near Los Angeles more than three kilometers long.
