Elon Musk is preparing to test brain chips on people: one of them will be implanted by a billionaire
Entrepreneur, engineer and billionaire Elon Musk said on November 30 that the brain chip will begin testing on humans in the next six months. The chip was developed by his healthcare technology company. TheGuardian.
During the presentation of his company Neuralink, Musk broke the news about the wireless brain chip. In addition to human clinical trials, the billionaire said he plans to produce one of the chips himself.
“We want to be extremely careful and make sure that the device works well before implanting it in a person,” Musk said.

Neuralink says it is developing brain chip interfaces that can restore human vision even to those born blind and restore "full bodily functionality," including movement and verbal communication, to people with a severed spinal cord.
The chip's interface, which targets the motor cortex, could be tested in humans in as little as six months, the company said.
The company does not have approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to sell the device, but Musk said most of the FDA's paperwork for human implantation has already been filed.
Neuralink is being tested on animals as it awaits clinical trial approval.

During a presentation to invited guests, Musk said progress was being made in developing a wireless brain chip despite previous delays.
“At first, progress, especially in terms of treating people, may seem painfully slow, but we are doing everything in parallel to scale it,” Musk said. “So in theory, progress should accelerate, because we are doing meaningful things.”
