ICE arrested 118 illegal immigrants during a raid in New York: there are citizens of Russia and Israel

US immigration and customs officers arrested 118 illegal immigrants during a five-day raid from 14 to 18 in January in New York, Long Island and the Hudson Valley, according to the official website Ice.gov.

All those arrested were detained for violating US immigration laws. 107 from 118 people were convicted criminals or their criminal cases were pending, 55 from 118 received a final deportation order and could not leave the United States or were previously expelled from the United States and illegally returned to the country.

Some of those arrested had previously been convicted of serious or violent crimes, including on sexual grounds and against minors, as well as on charges of arms and assault or for serious multiple offenses.

Among those arrested (sample from ICE site):

• In Brooklyn, a 44-year-old Ecuadorian registered sex offender convicted of attempting to rape two girls under the age of 8 was sentenced to 10 years probation;
• In Deer Park, a 34-year-old Ecuadorian national convicted of 1st degree sexual assault;
• In Brooklyn, a 33-year-old formerly exiled Jamaican citizen was convicted of distributing marijuana and stalking a person;
• In Corona - A 44-year-old Peruvian national, a registered sex offender, is released from NYPD custody with an active charge of forcible contact;
• In Brooklyn, a 49-year-old formerly exiled Jamaican man convicted of burglary, robbery and six separate thefts;
• In Kew Gardens, a 34-year-old Honduran national and registered sex offender released from NYPD custody;
• In the Bronx, a 37-year-old Honduran national convicted of robbery, assault, assisting in the commission of a crime, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of marijuana, grand and petty theft;
• In Brooklyn, a 30-year-old Israeli citizen, released from NYPD custody with active charges, convicted by the federal government of conspiracy to defraud the United States (currency counterfeiting);
• In the Bronx, a 23-year-old formerly deported Dominican citizen released from NYPD custody with an active charge of 3rd degree rape of a child under 17;
• In Rockville Centre, a 41-year-old Panamanian national released from custody at the Nassau County Correctional Center with an active charge convicted of attempted criminal possession of a weapon;
• In Flushing, a 29-year-old Ecuadorian national released from NYPD custody with active charges, twice convicted of bail jumping, criminal facilitation, disorderly conduct, grand theft and attempted grand theft;
• In Kew Gardens, a 34-year-old Honduran national, a registered sex offender, released from NYPD custody with active charges, convicted of sexual misconduct;
• In Brooklyn, a 30-year-old Guatemalan national previously convicted of harassment and public indecency was previously deported from the country;
• In Brooklyn, a 57-year-old formerly deported Jamaican national was released from NYPD custody with active charges, convicted of attempted trafficking of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance (4 separate cases), criminal possession and sale of marijuana.

Among those arrested were citizens Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Senegal, Spain, Trinidad and Venezuela.

All those who violate immigration laws, may be subjected to immigration arrest, detention and, if final order is issued, deportation from the United States, reminds ICE.
