Decay and deceit in the White House: A congressional report claims Biden was incompetent while governing the country, but it was covered up

The House of Representatives released a report on Biden's cognitive abilities. It stated that he had diminished cognitive abilities and was incompetent during his presidency, according to New York Times.

On October 28, the House Oversight Committee released a long-awaited report on the cognitive state of 46th President Joseph R. Biden Jr., accusing his inner circle of concealing signs of the then-head of state's mental decline. The report asserted (without providing evidence): Biden was so incapacitated that he was incapable of making decisions independently.

The page-long document, titled "The Biden Auto-Signed Presidency: Decline, Delusion, and Deception in the White House," argues that many of Biden's actions as president, including pardons of his family members, should be considered invalid because there is no evidence that he made those decisions personally.

On the subject: Trump created a presidential Walk of Fame: instead of Biden's portrait, a photo of an auto-subscriber was displayed.

The report, however, provides no evidence other than descriptions of the actions of Biden's aides, which suggest a supposedly coordinated "cover-up" of the 46th president's age-related and medical problems.

In a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, House Oversight Committee Chairman James R. Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, demanded an investigation into all executive actions taken during Biden's presidency to determine whether they were actually authorized by him. The dispatch also stated that the report could serve as the basis for future criminal prosecution by the Justice Department.

Bondi stated on social media that her department is investigating Biden's use of auto-signing when approving pardons. She intends to work with House Republicans to "ensure accountability to the American people."

Biden pardoned his son Hunter in his final weeks in office. He also issued full and unconditional pardons to five members of his family who had not been charged with crimes. These included his brother, James B. Biden; his brother's wife, Sarah Jones Biden; his sister, Valerie Biden Owens; her husband, John T. Owens; and his younger brother, Francis W. Biden.

The unauthorized use of the auto-signing device (a device that presidents of both parties have used for decades to sign laws and other official documents) has long been a particular concern for the current head of state.

Trump recently ordered portraits of all his predecessors—all but Biden—to be displayed in gilded frames in one of the White House halls. However, in place of the 46th president's portrait, a photo of a car-follower was found.

In his letter, Comer demanded that Bondi investigate the actions of key Biden advisers, which he said may contain elements of criminal wrongdoing. He mentioned Anthony Bernal, Annie Tomasini, and Dr. Kevin O'Connor, the 46th president's former personal physician, who, citing the Fifth Amendment, refused to testify during the committee's investigation.

In a statement, Rep. Robert E. Garcia of California, the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, called the report the result of a "sham investigation."

"All White House staff members have confirmed that President Biden fully discharged his duties as head of state," Garcia said. "The testimony makes clear that the president personally authorized every executive order, pardon, and use of auto-enrollment."

The report's description of what the authors call a coordinated "coverup" of Biden's decline cites episodes already widely known. It claims that aides tried, whenever possible, to prevent Biden from using stairs, walking long distances, or speaking without a prepared script (even to small audiences), relying instead on live news coverage.

The report says that when White House Chief of Staff Jeffrey D. Zients was in office, he proposed last summer that Biden undergo a full medical examination to assess his physical and mental health after his unsuccessful televised debate with Trump.

The document also includes an interview with another chief of staff, Ron Klain, who said that the debate rehearsals did not cause as much anxiety as the speech itself in June, but that he began to have doubts as he prepared for the debate.

The report, among other things, reveals that former chief communications adviser Anita Dunn discussed with other senior staffers the possibility of administering cognitive testing to the president, but ultimately decided that such tests were pointless.

Particular attention is paid to how Biden's closest aides managed the consequences of his deteriorating condition: they did not acknowledge the seriousness of the situation and did not allow the idea that it could interfere with the performance of his duties.

Although many former senior White House officials acknowledged in their testimony that Biden was showing signs of aging, affecting his memory and speech, including the return of his childhood stutter, they claimed that this did not impede his ability to serve as commander-in-chief. The report's authors called this view "self-delusion."

The report's central charge is that concealing signs of Biden's cognitive decline supposedly proves his inability to make decisions independently.

"There is not a single document confirming that President Biden personally made all the decisions attributed to him," the report states. However, it does not specify what such a document would look like.

Nevertheless, senior Justice Department officials are reportedly planning to take legal action regarding Biden's use of the pen. In an email to Comer obtained by The New York Times, Ed Martin, the department's pardon lawyer, said he would not defend Biden's pardon in court because he was conducting his own investigation, which he claimed had uncovered "troubling circumstances."

The statement appears to violate department rules prohibiting disclosure of information about ongoing investigations.
