Wladimir Klitschko's ex-fiancée, actress Hayden Panettiere, has died at the age of 36.

Hayden Panettiere has died, her representative said. ABC NewsShe was 36 years old. Details and circumstances of the actress's death were not reported.

"It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was a strong and vibrant person who brought boundless love and joy to everyone who knew her, as well as to the millions of viewers on screen," her father, Skip Panettiere, said in a statement.

He asked for the family's privacy to be respected "as we try to come to terms with this unthinkable loss."

Having started her career as a child and worked for many years in film and television, Panettiere gained fame for her roles as Claire Bennet in the hit series Heroes and Juliette Barnes in the musical drama Nashville.

She also starred in the films Remember the Titans, Fashion Mama, Ice Princess, and Scream 4.

Panettiere has spoken openly about the challenges she faced as a child star and adult. In May of this year, she released a memoir, "This Is Me: A Reckoning."

In the book, as the blurb states, she shares candid details of her life, talking about postpartum depression, addiction and recovery, as well as trauma, domestic violence, and loss.

She is survived by her daughter, Kaia, born in 2014 from her relationship with her ex-fiancé, heavyweight boxing champion Vladimir Klitschko.

In a 2022 interview with Good Morning America, Panettiere opened up about her struggles with alcoholism and postpartum depression.

"I didn't understand where alcoholism ended and postpartum depression began," the actress admitted then. "And I drove myself to the point of complete exhaustion."

She noted that the period after filming "Nashville" was "difficult." "And the years before that were really tough for me, too. I just needed a break," she explained.

Panettiere later reprised her role as Kirby Reed in the Scream franchise, with a new installment set for release in March 2023.

Her brother, Jansen Panettiere, died suddenly in February 2023 from cardiomegaly (an enlarged heart) combined with complications of the aortic valve, the family announced at the time. He was 28 years old.

Hayden Panettiere told People two years after his death, "My heart is forever broken over this."

"I'll never get over this," she added. "No matter how many years pass, I'll never get over his loss."

Panettiere died less than a week before her 37th birthday, which she would have celebrated on August 21.
