Thunderstorms, showers and snow: a destructive storm is approaching the south and northeast of the United States

In southern states such as Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee, cloudy weather is expected today, April 10, reports USA Today.

On Thursday, April 9, severe storms hit Texas. Near Adkins, east of San Antonio, lightning struck the main gas line and detonated it, forcing some residents to leave their homes. On the evening of April 9, more than 31 consumers were left without gas in Texas.

"Showers and thunderstorms are expected across southern West Texas on April 10 and will begin to intensify as the storm system moves into the Plains on Sunday, April 12," AccuWeather meteorologist Michael Lezeny said.

Also, on April 10, in some areas of northern New England, a storm system can bring snow. On Monday, April 13th, there will likely be a heavy snowstorm that passes through Wisconsin and heads for Iowa.

It is known that because of the storm on April 9 in the evening, more than 285 houses were left without light, mainly in the states of Maine, Texas and Louisiana.

On the morning of April 9, the storm system, moving east, covered parts of Indiana and Arkansas, bringing with it strong winds, rain and hail throughout the Midwest.

In downtown Moorsville, downtown Indiana, the streets were strewn with bricks and rubbish. Perhaps a tornado shot down the second floor of an empty building, according to The Mooresville Decatur-Times.

According to John Robinson, chief of the fire department in Mursville, Indiana, residents were advised to stay home because of a coronavirus pandemic. Because people, most likely, were not exposed to danger during the storm.

“We have several small restaurants downtown and they are often full of people. Luckily, due to the virus, no one was there. Honestly, it's kind of a blessing,” Robinson told WXIN-TV.

Also, storms cut off electricity to over 100 consumers in central and southern Indiana.

According to Jonesboro KAIT, in Harrisburg, Arkansas, about 105 miles northeast of Little Rock, more than 30 homes were damaged and two were injured. It is likely that the destruction occurred due to a tornado.

New England Snow

According to AccuWeather, a heavy snowstorm that hit Maine and parts of northern New England began on Thursday, April 9, during the day. Rain and snow gave way to snow when the air temperature dropped.

"As with last winter, Maine and parts of eastern Canada will receive the bulk of the snow from this storm," said AccuWeather meteorologist Renee Duff.
