Citizens of which countries of the former USSR are most often denied American visas
Государственный департамент США published non-immigrant visa denial data (so-called B-visas) to the USA in 2019 year. They relate to tourist and business trips, but do not relate to work visas and visas that allow you to live in the country for a sufficiently long period.
It turned out that most often from the countries of the former USSR, the US authorities today refuse visas to citizens of Uzbekistan. There, in 2019, 68,06% of those who applied for visas received refusals, while compared to 2018, the number of refusals to Uzbeks increased by 6%. This figure is approximately equal to the percentage of US visa refusals that Afghan citizens receive, writes “Present Tense«.
The second place on refusals from the countries of the former USSR is taken by Kyrgyzstan. His citizens were denied visas to the United States in 67,75% of cases (58,9% in 2018 year).
Georgia ranks third: its citizens were denied 63,85% of cases of submitted documents.

Citizens of Turkmenistan were denied 56,26% of submitted documents, Armenia - in 51,65% of cases, citizens of Kazakhstan - in 42,58% of cases. In the case of Kazakhstan, the failure rate increased slightly compared to the 2018 year, when it amounted to 39,38%.
Citizens of Ukraine are also often denied: 45,06% attempts to apply for a visa to the USA ended in failure.
The failure rate for Azerbaijani citizens is relatively low: only 25,43%, Belarus - 21,93%, Estonia - 24,81%, Latvia - 18,98% and Lithuania - 18,67%. Also, despite the crisis in relations between the two countries, the United States has little denied travel to Russian citizens: only 15,19% of the submitted visa documents were rejected.
The US authorities do not explain the reasons for which denied visas to citizens of individual countries. But, as a rule, this is due either to the number of illegal immigrants who remain in the United States from this country, or to the incorrect filling out of documents and not providing any of them.
