The official Online State Department has not yet published the date of receipt of applications for the next lottery draw Green Card-2019 (the year of the lottery is ahead of the current one by two and corresponds to the year when the green cards won in this lottery will be issued). As a rule, applications can be submitted starting from the first days of October. Last year, applications for participation in the 2018 lottery were accepted from October 4 to November 7 2016. Recall in August, US President Donald Trump introduced the RAISE billwho suggested changing the approaches to immigration policy, halving the number of immigrants, and canceling the lottery Green Card. Instead of a drawing, it was proposed to introduce a competitive application process. According to the president, this will give immigrants who “speak English, can financially support themselves and their families, and have the skills necessary for the American economy” a better chance of obtaining residency and work permits in the United States.
