City in Texas completely closed due to COVID-19: almost half of the population fell ill

Rybolt added that at least one Iraqi resident was airlifted for out-of-state treatment due to a lack of available beds in an intensive care unit in Texas.

The number of intensive care beds available throughout Texas was extremely low; According to the latest data, only 372 are currently available. The nearest hospitals to Iraan are at least 100 miles (160 km) away.
