The largest technology corporations such as Google, Amazon and Microsoft launched a campaign to support Ukrainian volunteers in the United States.

Most US corporations encourage their employees to donate money or time to charitable organizations. The so-called system of commensurate increase in donor donations is one of the modern tools in the activities of American volunteers.

How this system works

In order for a charitable organization to receive a donor donation from a corporation of which you are an employee, it must be registered on the website of one of the operators, for example Benevity.com or Yourcause.com.

After you donate a certain amount, a charitable organization to which you transfer money through one of the above operators will automatically receive counter funding from your employer.

Not only Ukraine is on the list of recipients of funds from Google: such countries as Syria and Afghanistan can also be found in it. In September of this year, the administration of the technology giant announced the collection of 11 million dollars to resolve the immigration crisis in Europe. Then humanitarian organizations raised 5,5 million dollars. Google paid 5,5 more millions of dollars in excess of the funds raised.

Employees forced Google to donate to countries such as Ukraine

As Mikhail Simbirsky, a volunteer of the Nova Ukraine movement in Santa Clara, said, the Ukrainians of San Francisco began to use a system for multiplying charitable contributions, in which such giants as Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Ebay, PG&E, Oracle, Cisco and many others participate.

This is done in order to increase the contribution of the diaspora to charity in Ukraine.

Note that most of the listed corporations make a counter-donation of up to 30 or even 100 percent. For example, Microsoft, BP, General Electric give to charity events in a 1: 1 ratio (for every $ 100, another $ 100 is given), Johnson & Johnson - 2: 1, and the Soros Foundation offers 3: 1.

“In addition, all contributions are deducted from the amount of taxes that the taxpayer pays in April of each year. For example, if you donate 100 dollars, about 25 dollars - or even 40 dollars will be returned to your account, ”said Mikhail Simbirsky.

The system allows you to make contributions at a time, monthly or every two weeks, deducting a certain amount from each salary. It is also possible to receive up to 125 dollars for every five hours of volunteer work from the above companies.

According to Simbirsky, Nova Ukraine has already received about five thousand dollars in this way.

The main requirement here is that the receiving organization must be registered in the general register of US sponsorship organizations and must be recognized by the American tax service as charitable.
