The head of the Institute of National Memory of Ukraine told what dangerous Vysotsky and Tsoi are

Director of the Institute of National Memory of Ukraine, historian Vladimir Vyatrovich believes that the writer Mikhail Bulgakov, poets and musicians Vladimir Vysotsky and Viktor Tsoi are “instruments in the hands of the Kremlin” and are dangerous. Vyatrovich wrote about this in Facebook.

“Not all tentacles of the “Russian world” are as nasty and obvious as the Soviet Union and the Moscow Church. Some are more attractive, sophisticated and respectable, but no less dangerous. “The Irony of Fate”, “March Eighth”, Bulgakov, Pugachev, and even Vysotsky and Tsoi in the hands of the Kremlin are effective tools for reminding about a single cultural space and the tools for its creation. Namely, culture is the foundation on which every imperialism builds the temple of its greatness,” wrote Vyatrovich (the author’s spelling has been preserved).

The words of the head of the Institute of National Memory of Ukraine raised a wave of discussions in the Ukrainian segment Facebook. Some supported the official’s words, others stood up for their favorite singers and writers.

So, in support of Vyatrovich expressed MP Nikolay Knyazhitsky, who in his Facebook He emphasized that not a single bad word was written about Vysotsky or Tsoi, but it was about their use of Kremlin propaganda.

“For some reason, everyone began to defend Vysotsky and Bulgakov from Vyatrovich. But he didn’t say a bad word about them. He spoke only about the cynical use of culture by the power of the colonizer and aggressor... And Pushkin, Bulgakov and Vysotsky are outstanding personalities of Russian and world culture, but none of them advocated the independence of Ukraine from the empire in which they lived. Brodsky is a genius. But he hated Ukraine,” the deputy wrote.

Vyatrovich was supported by a well-known publicist and journalist Vitaly Portnikov.

“They attacked Volodya Vyatrovich because of Vysotsky. It's amazing how people simply don't want to realize that they live in a changed world! ... In Russian culture - it would be strange to deny this - there are many cultural peaks (historical ones - fewer, this is the problem of any empire). But for me these are foreign peaks. As well as Polish, German, French, Japanese. I love to breathe the air of foreign mountains. But nothing compares for me with the domes of Kyiv and the domes of Jerusalem. This is different. These are not mountains. These are the roots,” Portnikov wrote.

In turn, the general director of the holding “1 + 1” Alexander Tkachenko expressed surprise why the Ukrainian government does not use Russian leaders for the benefit of Ukraine, but only complains about the enemies and offered everyone to “start with themselves”.

“At least it’s amazing. No one has ever stopped the statesmen of Ukraine from “using” them for their own purposes, rather than complaining about their enemies. We must start with ourselves. The time has come. Especially during the celebration of Vysotsky’s 80th birthday, whose best film works were filmed on Ukrainian soil - at the Odessa Film Studio. Not to mention Bulgakov. And others - which are the property of common history. It’s a pity and sad,” Tkachenko wrote.

We will remind, earlier in Ukraine, Russian actors Mikhail Boyarsky, Oleg Tabakov, Boris Klyuev and Valentin Gaft were put on the “black list”.
