Indiana gynecologist suspected of fertilizing patients without their knowledge

A former fertility specialist, 78-year-old Donald Klein in the state of Indiana is accused of using his own sperm to help patients get pregnant, reports New York Post.
The investigation suspects that since the beginning of 1970's, the gynecologist has fertilized about 50 patients who were confident that the biological material was taken from the sperm bank. He resorted to this step when there was no donor material at hand.
While it is established that Klein is the biological father of two children of his patients. The investigation of this case continues.
According to Klein's lawyers, he is going to admit his guilt. A court hearing is scheduled for December 14. According to Indiana law, doctors are not prohibited from becoming donors for their own patients. What punishment may threaten a doctor is not specified.
