Where to work for a woman in the USA to earn more than men

Top 15 lowest and highest paid jobs for women compared to men. Depending on the profession, women can earn more or much less than men. Money Talks News.

US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data for the second quarter of 2021 shows that full-time women earn 82% of the average earnings of their male counterparts.

This pay gap has remained relatively constant over the past decade, but it differs even more between women and men when comparing different racial and ethnic demographic groups. For example, the average weekly earnings of black women ($ 746) are only about 67% of the average weekly earnings of white men ($ 1115). However, the average weekly earnings of white and Asian women ($ 921 and $ 1037, respectively), although lower than that of white men, exceed those of Hispanic men ($ 825).

Just as race and ethnicity affect the pay gap between men and women, occupation also plays a role. In this study, SmartAsset looked at occupations in which women earn more and less than men. Specifically, we used 2019 BLS data to compare the average weekly earnings of women and men across 111 occupations.

Women earn more than men in five occupations. In addition to these occupations, there are seven additional occupations for which the pay gap is less than 5%.

According to BLS, there are seven occupations in which women earn less than 70% of the average earnings of men. Moreover, in all of the occupations listed below, women earn less than 75% of what their male colleagues bring home each week.

To find the professions in which women earn the most and the least compared to men, we looked at all the professions listed by BLS. After the elimination of professions with incomplete data or professions with the title indicating “everything else” or “miscellaneous”, we have 111 professions left. For each of these occupations, we looked at the average earnings of both sexes taken from the data. Bureau of Labor Statistics 2019.
