Harry Potter, Joker and Wonder Woman team up in a new video: what is it about
WarnerMedia, the Advertising Council, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are hoping to convince audiences of different ages with a new video that features famous characters in scenes from popular films from one of the world's largest news and entertainment conglomerates, WarnerMedia. Writes about it Adage.
The 30-second commercial features memorable moments from the WarnerMedia films that play out with one caveat: all characters wear masks regardless of the circumstances. Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort wear masks during their final battle in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2; Pennywise from "It" sports a smiling clown mask as a red balloon floats in front of him; The Joker dances in the popular Joker staircase scene with a mask matching his costume. The video also features Doctor Evil from Goldmember, Rick and Ilsa from Casablanca, and Wonder Woman from the movie of the same name.
The scenes are separated by text overlaid on the American flag, with the words: “Let's get back to our favorite things, whatever they are. Slow down the spread. Disguise America. " At the end we see Harley Quinn from Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey. She will be hanging on the roof, but wearing a mask.
Public service advertising operates on a nationwide time limit for the media and is free to use by broadcast and digital news agencies.
WarnerMedia is launching the ad on its own television and digital channels and platforms including HBO, Turner, Rooster Teeth, Crunchy Roll, Bleacher Report, Xandr and AT&T, as well as its own social media channels.
“WarnerMedia prides itself on helping educate and educate fans about the importance of wearing masks during a pandemic,” said Dennis Williams, senior vice president of corporate social responsibility at WarnerMedia. - Wearing a mask is an effective way to protect yourself and your loved ones from COVID-19. We hope that after seeing some of their favorite masked heroes and characters, people will follow suit. Wearing masks is a simple step we can all take to support each other during this difficult time. ”
The video was produced by WarnerMedia Studios' own creative agency 10th Street Productions. It is part of the Ad Council's ongoing "Disguise America" campaign, which began in July 2020 in partnership with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. To date, the campaign has generated $ 4,3 million in donated, earned and distributed media and over 154 million impressions on television, digital and social media.
