Films, stars and receptions: New York will host the festival 'Russian Film Week'
From 6 to 13 December, 2019 will be held in New York II Festival “Russian Cinema Week”. Among the guests and participants of the festival are Taisiya Vilkova, Alexey Guskov, Stasya Miloslavskaya, Rinal Mukhametov, Anna Parnas, Alexander Petrov, Anna Rytsareva, Alexey Serebryakov, Vladimir Khotinenko and others.
This year's program includes 18 Russian films, which will be shown at the School of Visual Arts Theater (SVA Theatre, 333 W 23rd St), the Peter J Sharp Theater and the Leonard Nimoy Theater at Symphony Space (2537 Broadway, NY ), as well as at the New York Institute of Technology Theater (NYIT Auditorium on Broadway, 1871 Broadway, NY). In addition to screenings, the festival will include meetings and discussions with actors and directors, open free events and closed receptions. The festival will celebrate commercial and artistic paintings, diverse in content, genre and style. Director Anna Parmas will present the comedy “Let's Get Divorced!”, A template-breaking comedy that won the Audience Award at Kinotavr.
The action-packed action film “Hero” and the drama “Text” will be presented by the main star of both films, Alexander Petrov. The discussion of the family drama “Van Gogh” will be held by the leading actor Alexey Serebryakov and the film’s director Sergei Livnev.
Director Alexander Gorchilin will communicate with the public after showing his youth film “Acid”. Actor Rinal Mukhametov will communicate with the audience after showing the youth dance drama “Battle”.
The main prize-winner of Kinotavr, the film Bull, will be presented by Boris Akopov and Stasya Miloslavskaya. The festival will also feature a screening of the historical mini-series “Coronation” by Alexei Uchitel, based on the drama “Matilda”.
All pictures are provided with English subtitles. The screenings will be accompanied by panel discussions, Q&A with actors and directors, master classes, children's events, free open events and private receptions.

15 films, 18 events, more than 4,5 thousand spectators - these are last year’s festival figures. This year, the organizers of the “Russian Cinema Week” TPO “ROK” and the non-profit foundation “Cherry Orchard Festival” are preparing to welcome more than 9 thousand spectators.
