A Florida Farmer Tried to Become a Blogger, But Her Ostrich Became the Star

Videos of the adorable emu continue to gain popularity on social media due to the bird popping into the frame in all of its owner's TikTok videos. Independent.

On TikTok, Taylor, who runs Knuckle Bump Farms in South Florida, often posts videos of her animals. At the beginning of some of her clips, her large emu named Emmanuel can be seen entering the frame and moving her face closer to the camera.

Emu (lat. Dromaius novaehollandiae) is a bird of the cassowary order, the largest Australian bird. It is the second largest bird after the ostrich. Previously, emus were classified as ostriches (the classification was revised in the 1980s). The emu is sometimes considered more docile than the ostrich.

A compilation of videos of Emmanuelle breaking into her owner's video has been posted on Twitter and includes many moments from Taylor's TiKTok account of Emmanuelle sticking her head into the frame.

“I'm trying to educate people right now,” Taylor tells the bird in one video. “You can just stop, okay?”

Another video shows Taylor petting her cow while Emmanuelle walks in front of the camera again. In the next clip, Taylor is looking at a black swan in the lake as Emmanuelle enters the frame. She tells the emu, "Don't do that."

Taylor seems to take the fact that the bird was going to keep messing up the shots on a positive note and just tells her to "do it" at one point. The bird opened its mouth, jabbed its beak at the camera, and knocked the device to the floor.

After the emu pecked the camera several times, Taylor sarcastically asked, “How did you feel? Was it everything you ever wanted and hoped for in life? Do you feel satisfied now?"

On Twitter, the post has received more than 22,1 million views, with viewers expressing their surprise at Taylor the bird.

"Emmanuelle is my spirit animal legit man," wrote one user, while another said, "I will definitely be yelling 'Emmanuelle don't do this' to one of my animals for 24 hours."

Other viewers continued to praise Taylor's close bond with Emmanuel and noted how it reminded them of the relationship between parent and child.

“That the most viral videos on the internet so often involve human emotions towards animals of all kinds, not just dogs and cats, says a lot about our natural relationship with them,” wrote one.

"You need to write a children's book about an emu who didn't behave well but you loved her anyway," added another. “For a kid who was constantly getting into trouble, that would be very helpful.”

In a video posted to her TikTok on July 17, Taylor thanked her viewers for their support "over the past few weeks." She explained that she has always been an "animal lover" and has "created content since 2013", Emmanuelle reappeared in her video uninvited before knocking her camera down.

“I’m trying to say thank you to them because they supported us online,” she told the bird. “I know you don’t know what the Internet is, but you’re literally famous there.”

Taylor highlighted her gratitude by writing, “We pray that this account becomes a safe place for anyone looking for a little joy in this dark world. We love you!"
