FBI monitors Russians who attended Trump's inauguration

According to the report, the FBI monitored a number of influential Russians who participated in President Trump’s inauguration events last year, including a lawyer associated with the Kremlin who met with Donald Trump, Jr. and other partners during the 2016 election campaign of the year.

Counterintelligence officers and the FBI were concerned that the names of some of the Russians present at the inauguration surfaced during the investigation by the Russian relations agency, which interfered in the elections, and possible collusion with Trump's entourage.

One of them was Russian lawyer Natalya Veselnitskaya, who in June 2016 met at Trump Tower with Trump Jr., former campaign chairman Pavel Manafor and the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner, a top White House adviser.

Another famous Russian was Alexei Repik, a wealthy head of a pharmaceutical company who, with his wife Polina Repik, watched Trump's oath in the US Capitol, reports The Washington Post.

He even bragged on Facebookthat came close enough to the president at the event to "check the strength of Donald Trump's handshake."

“It was a great, amazing experience,” Alexei Repik told the newspaper, adding that he was also in the nation's capital during the inauguration of President Barack Obama in 2013, but did not attend any events.

The organizers said they followed all the protocols of the secret service.

"President Trump's Presidential Inaugural Committee, administratively speaking, was conducted in a similar, if not identical, manner to previous inaugurations," the committee told the newspaper.

The secret service also stated that it followed all the usual procedures.

All American special services sure that Russia intervened in the US presidential election in 2016, although the Russian authorities refute these allegations.

Several congressional committees and Special Attorney Robert Muller are investigating Russia's interference in the US election, and whether representatives of Trump's election headquarters are connected with this alleged interference.
