The FBI received a warning about the intention of the shooter from Florida to arrange a shooting at school

36 year old video blogger YouTube from Mississippi, Ben Benite, in September noticed an alarming commentary on the video he published. He said CNNthat after that immediately contacted the FBI.

“I’m going to become a professional school shooter,” was the comment on the blogger’s video left by a user named Nikolas Cruz - the same name as arrowwho opened fire on Stoneman douglas high school on Wednesday, killing at least 17 people.

According to a law enforcement officer, there were at least two reports of threats from a suspected shooter received by the FBI. In both cases, the FBI did not share information with local law enforcement, the official said.

Benait emailed a screenshot of the comment he shared with CNN, but the FBI e-mail address was invalid, he said. Benayt said that after that he phoned the FBI. Since then, a comment on YouTube removed.

According to Benite, the FBI agents in Mississippi contacted him and came to his office the next morning to conduct a personal interview. He told the agents that he knew nothing about the user.

This was the last contact with the FBI before Wednesday, he added.

An FBI special agent in charge of the Miami division, Robert Lasky, confirmed on Thursday morning that the bureau received a comment on YouTube.

“No other information was included in this comment that would indicate the time, location or true identity of the person who made the comment,” Lasky said at a news conference. “The FBI conducted inquiries but was unable to identify the person who actually made the comment.”

On Wednesday, after Cruz was arrested, Benaytu was called by an FBI agent in Miami who wanted to investigate the September incident, he said. A few hours later, FBI agents from the office in Mississippi came to Benite again.
