Facebook promises new ways to deal with data leakage, and they may be paid

The official website of Facebook states that work on the program began a few weeks ago in order to ensure faster disclosure of potential misuse of information of users of the social network. Data abuse bounty works on the principle of an already existing error correction program, which Facebook uses to identify and fix network security issues.

This program will reward people for information and evidence of cases when an application running on a platform Facebook, collects and transfers user data to a third party for commercial or fraudulent use.

The amount of remuneration will be separately considered and set in each case. In the technical errors detection program, some applicants received awards of up to 40 000 dollars.

Facebook promises to address as quickly as possible all complaints related to data abuse, investigate them and respond to claimants about the reward as quickly as possible.

In addition, if the social network confirms the abuse, the offending application will be blocked, and a lawsuit will be filed against the company that created it.
