Jewish organizations in the USA are looking for volunteers to help Ukrainians

The topic of the war in Ukraine has practically disappeared from television screens and the news, but the tragedy of hundreds of thousands of refugees continues. Children, women, elderly people, wounded soldiers undergoing rehabilitation need professional psychological support.

Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA), an umbrella organization of Jewish communities in the United States and Canada, has already trained about 200 volunteers to help refugees from Ukraine and continues to work in this direction.

The organization is looking for specialists who want to lend a helping hand to Ukrainians affected by the war.

If you are a mental health professional, speak up. in Ukrainian (and/or Russian), are ready to devote time to a good cause - then the Global Volunteer Center is looking for you Jewish Federations.

The center needs psychologists, psychotherapists and social workers who are ready to provide volunteer assistance to organizations working with Ukrainian refugees in Europe.

Volunteers with the following skills are especially needed:

• experience working with people who have experienced trauma (children and/or adults);
• experience working with veterans (Ukrainian-speaking specialists are welcome);
• experience in helping older people.

Candidates for volunteering will undergo a selection process, including interviews with representatives of the Global Center and organizations directly helping Ukrainians in Europe.

Those who pass the selection will be able to choose the location and timing of their volunteer trip. Before the trip, volunteers will have to buy their own tickets, and in some cases, book accommodation. At the end of the business trip Jewish Federations reimburse these costs. The Global Volunteer Center provides volunteers with health insurance and food.
