If you contracted the coronavirus in New York: 10 steps to take
If you get sick COVID-19 or suspect you are infected with the virus causing the disease, follow these 10 recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This will allow you to protect relatives and other residents of the city from infection. The publication shared a selection Daily News.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that New Yorkers adhere to these 10 rules in an epidemic to avoid the spread of coronavirus:
- Contact your doctor
If you have an appointment with a doctor, call the medical center and say that you have or may have COVID-19.
- Wear a face mask
You should wear a face covering when you are around other people, such as in the same room or car, and before entering a healthcare provider's office.
- Self insulate
If you get sick, but the symptoms of coronavirus are mild, it is recommended that you stay at home. You must restrict activities outside the home, with the exception of medical care. Do not go to work, school or public places.
- Keep your distance from others
As far as possible, keep your distance from other people, stay in a separate room in your home. In addition, you should use a private bathroom, if any.
- Use a napkin or scarf
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or handkerchief when you cough or sneeze.
