Three more American states recognized the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people
Three states - Washington, Maryland and Arizona - also joined in recognizing the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people and proclaimed November as the month of remembrance of the Ukrainian Holodomor-genocide. I wrote about this Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Oksana Markarova on her Facebook page.

“Today, 31 American states have already issued corresponding proclamations recognizing the Holodomor as genocide,” Markarova writes. “Thank you to Washington State Governor Jay Inslee, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, and Arizona Governor Kathy Hobbs for their solidarity with Ukraine.”
Among the states that recognized the Holodomor as genocide are Alabama, Virginia, Wisconsin, Illinois, California, Kansas, Connecticut, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhodes Island, Texas, Utah and others.

The Ukrainian Embassy in the United States, together with the US Regional Committee for Recognition of the Holodomor as Genocide, is actively working to expand the geography of recognition of the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
We invite the Ukrainian community in all states to participate in the campaign to remember the victims of the Holodomor by organizing educational events about the terrible crime of the Soviet regime against Ukrainians committed 90 years ago.
And residents of Washington can visit the exhibition “Holodomor Yesterday. Genocide today. Responsibility - when?”, organized by the embassy together with the UKCA at the Museum of Memory of the Victims of Communism. The exhibition awaits visitors from November 2, 2023 to February 4, 2024.
