Storm Hermin reached the strength of the hurricane in the afternoon of September 1 while in the Gulf of Florida.
He is expected to hit West Florida early in the morning of September 2, writes USA Today.
If Hermine maintains hurricane strength until then, it will be the first hurricane to hit the state since Wilma hit Florida on Oct. 24, 2005, and the state has not had a hurricane in a record 3 days.
