The first lady of Ukraine, Elena Zelenskaya, appeared on the cover of the digital version of the American Vogue magazine: she starred in a photo shoot for the popular publication and gave an interview, reports TSN.

The first lady posed in front of the lens of the famous photographer Annie Leibovitz. Annie Leibovitz is considered one of America's finest portrait photographers. Leibovitz has photographed Mick Jagger, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Hillary Clinton, Mikhail Baryshnikov and many other celebrities.

Elena was wearing a light-colored shirt with a short fringe, black trousers and black shoes. Neat styling, the most natural make-up and deep sadness on her face – this is how the first lady appeared on the cover.

In the photo shoot, the first lady tried on stylish outfits from Ukrainian brands Poustovit, The Coat, Kachorovska, Bettter, Hvoya, Six.

They also showed the backstage of the filming, where Leibovitz appeared.

In an interview, she and her husband Vladimir Zelensky spoke about their acquaintance, their relationship during the war, the impact of the full-scale Russian invasion on their lives and their plans for the future. “These were the most terrible months in my life and in the life of every Ukrainian. Honestly, I don't think anyone knows how we coped emotionally. We are looking forward to victory. We have no doubt that we will win. And this is what keeps us going,” said the first lady.

Elena remembered the first weeks of the war and how she felt then.

“The first weeks after the start of the war we were simply shocked. After Bucha, we realized that this is a war whose goal is to destroy us all. A war of extermination,” said the president’s wife.

During the conversation, Zelensky admitted that Elena is not only his love for him, but also his best friend and wonderful mother.

“Of course she is my love. But she is also my best friend. She is also a patriot and loves Ukraine very much. This is true. And she’s a great mother,” said Vladimir.
