Excursion to the red planet: enthusiasts create an ultra-high quality video tour of Mars

A group of video enthusiasts ElderFox Documentaries, using the available high-resolution photos of the Red Planet, which have been taken by NASA rovers for many years, assembled them into a 4K UHD film. The video is posted in their YouTube-channel.
“A frequently asked question is why we don’t have live video from Mars? Since nothing is happening there, it only makes sense to take photos,” explained the authors of the video.

They clarified that the high quality of optics on the rovers rests on the throughput communication channel with the Earth.
The Curiosity rover still operating on Mars, for example, can only send data at 32Kbps - that's the dial-up speed of the 90s. Nevertheless, every local day, the rovers for eight minutes can merge data through the automatic orbital station Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter visible above the horizon at a speed of 2 Mb / s. But even this channel is too narrow for UHD video.
