'Poop and cups of urine': California homeless crisis is forcing business owners to move

Because the homelessness crisis in California continues to worsen, one of the small business owners complained directly to state governor Gavin Newsom on her Twitter video.

Elizabeth Nowak, who owns a hairdresser in downtown Sacramento, posted a video on social media on Friday that talks about how difficult it was to run his own business during the crisis of homelessness and asked him how he was going to solve the problem.

Novak told Fox & Friends presenter Ainsley Earhardt Monday that the homeless situation is forcing her to move.

“A lot of people have asked why go straight to the governor, why take it to this level, and I think this is an SOS to all small business owners. And not just the business owners, but the workers downtown,” Novak told Fox & Friends.

“When I come to work, I don’t know what I’ll encounter. Locks were picked, glass was broken. Every week I remove human excrement from the doorstep, cups of urine and the like,” says Novak.

"I have compassion for these people, but you know they're sleeping outside your door, littering and turning over trash cans... I can't take it anymore," she added.

Novak said part of the problem is that law enforcement officials are not allowed to arrest homeless people, which she said was a violation of Newsom’s law.

Although Novak’s Twitter account is now limited, she began her video by contacting the governor.

“This video is for Gavin Newsom,” Novak began in the video. “I had a business in downtown Sacramento for 15 years.”

“I just want to tell you what happens when I come to work,” she said.

“I have to clean up food and urine from the doorstep. I have to politely ask the people I care about - I care about these homeless people - to move their tents. So I want to know what you are going to do for us,” the woman concluded.

Recall that in three districts of San Francisco, California, for two years the number of homeless increased by tens of percent, including 17% in San Francisco and 43% in the county, which includes Auckland. This is evidenced by the data of the federal authorities.
