The former head of Walmart landed the aircraft with a parachute. VIDEO
In Arkansas, the plane made an emergency landing on the highway, using a parachute. Behind the wheel was former executive director of Walmart, an American retailer, 56-year-old Bill Simon, who resigned last year.
According to the local police, the pilot decided to lower the altitude after the fuel supply system failed. On board at this point were two more passengers.
As noted by CNBC, Simon tried to land at the airport of the city of Fayetteville, but to no avail. Instead, he sat down on Martin Luther King Boulevard, using an emergency parachute.
On the ground, the glider crashed into a truck. Another car crashed. There were small children in the cars, but no one was seriously injured. Drivers and the pilot received minor injuries.
Previously "Forum" reported about the crash of the Metrojet A-321 aircraft (the old name is “Kogalymavia”), which occurred on the morning of October 31. On board the liner, performing the charter flight from Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg, were 224 man, they all died.
