The former head of Starbucks decided to become president of the United States
Howard Schulz, the former CEO of Starbucks, is considering the opportunity to run for president as an independent candidate. About it CNN said two people familiar with his plans.
A person close to Schulz’s advisors said that they “are exploring a possible independent bid for the presidency in 2020,” but stressed that all options are still under consideration.
"(Schultz) is seriously thinking about his future and how he can best serve his country."
Schulz left his post as head of Starbucks last year. Howard’s success story from a poor family of American Jews who lived in low-income homes and whose childhood is associated with instability, poverty and lack of prospects, ForumDaily I told earlier.
He continued to criticize President Donald Trump, citing both the "fierce behavior" of the Trump administration and corporate tax cuts during an interview with CNBC in June. At that time, in his words, "President Trump confirmed the fact that someone who is not a politician could potentially run for president."
In the same interview, Schulz drew the attention of the Democrats to the proposals that he considered too left, including health care with one payer and a guaranteed income.
Schultz is one of many around the country who are said to be considering challenging Trump in 2020, and the prospect of an independent candidacy comes as the Democratic field widens. On Monday, California Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris announced that will enter the race for the presidency.
The former mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg, who is also a billionaire businessman, previously stated that he is considering the proposal, but if he decides, he will run as a Democrat because he does not believe that an independent candidate can succeed.
The 59 US Presidential Election will be held on November 3 of the year.
