Catherine vs. Tatiana: In New York, a dismissed worker is suing because of insults
The former dressmaker of the flagship store Tom Ford in New York filed a lawsuit against the company and its manager, claiming that the boss fired her because she did not participate in inappropriate conversations and took time off due to bouts of anxiety.
34-year-old Ekaterina Angert worked at the Madison Avenue branch of a designer brand from June to October, tells The Daily Mail.
In the lawsuit, she claims that 54-year-old Tatiana Glaserman subjected her to “a flurry of unprovoked inappropriate personal revelations.”
"For example, Glazerman told Angert that she was 'very horny' and that she 'needed sex for breakfast, lunch and dinner,'" court documents state. The LinkedIn profile says Glazerman is “Change Manager/Chief Tailor/Custom or VIP Services at Tom Ford, Women's and Men's Apparel PR.”
"Glezerman also told Angert that she had 'every sex toy you could possibly have,' and advised that 'today, with the iPhone and technology, you can do whatever you want with sex toys,'" the case file further states.
The documents state that “the behavior underwent escalation from unacceptable to completely disgusting and discriminatory” in cases where Catherine did not support such unprofessional conversations.
According to Angert, Tatiana also told her that her workplace in Manhattan actually demonstrates anti-Semitic sentiments, therefore Catherine should hide her religion.
Angert said in a statement that she was advised “not to discuss her Judaism or keeping kosher” because “they don’t like the Jews here.”
The plaintiff adds that Glaserman tried to make her work on Jewish holidays.
Attitudes toward her at work, according to Ekaterina, turned into a nightmare: Tatiana constantly read her out, shouted at her in front of her high-level employees and leaders, which caused her constant pathological anxiety.
The prosecutor sued both an individual and Tom Ford for damages, the amount of which is not reported.
Angert said she was hospitalized twice due to panic attacks for a short time at her company, and eventually she had to take time off because her complaints about team members who were higher in rank were not quickly considered.
After the hospital she was fired.
“It is sad to see this level of abuse continue in this day and age, especially at such a prestigious company as Tom Ford,” Ekaterina’s lawyer Maimon Kirshenbaum said in a statement to the New York Post.
Tom Ford seems to support Staten Island resident Tatiana Glaserman, who also worked at Versace, Gucci and Calvin Klein and studied in Ukraine.
A spokeswoman for Tom Ford told The Post: "We investigated the claims and found that they were unfounded, and we look forward to decisively opposing them in court."
