Jeff Bezos flew into space: how it was

Today, July 20, at 09:00 (New York time), Amazon founder and richest man on the planet Jeff Bezos flew into space.

The New Shepard rocket was launched from distant Van Horn, Texas with a slight delay.

The flight, which lasted about 11 minutes, took passengers to the border between the atmosphere and space, after which they remained in free motion for about three minutes before the capsule returned to Earth.

While the rocket was in space, users noted that while Bezos was in space, Ilorn Musk was once again the richest man on Earth.

The crew was in a domed capsule that was atop the rocket booster.

Once New Shepard reached the Karman Line - an imaginary boundary of 100 km or 62 miles above the surface of the Earth - the capsule is designed to separate from the booster, re-enter the atmosphere, and descend back to Earth by parachutes.

“Since I turned five, I have dreamed of traveling into space. On July 20, I will embark on this journey with my brother. Greatest Adventure With My Best Friend, ”wrote Jeff Bezos on Instagram.

Together with Bezos and his brother flew into space 18-year-old ticket buyer Oliver Daemen and 82-year-old pilot Wally Funk. Oliver Daemen will be the youngest astronaut, while Funk, 82, will be the oldest. Bezos is considered the richest man on Earth, that is, he became the richest man who has been in space.

The flight passed without incident. Although there was no cockpit broadcast, their enthusiastic comments were heard throughout the broadcast.

Petitions against the return of Bezos

More than 180 people signed petitions asking not to allow Bezos to return to Earth after his flight into space.

“Billionaires should not exist, on earth or in space, but if they decide to visit the latter, they should stay there,” reads the description of the petition.

Some signatories indicated the reason for signing the petition, which included comments such as “returning to Earth is a privilege, not a right” and “Earth does not want people like Jeff, Bill, Elon, and other such billionaires to live on it. "(Presumably referring to Bill Gates and Elon Musk).

Jose Ortiz, who created the petition, said in the description that Bezos was "an evil master, obsessed with world domination and the real Lex Luthor."
