Two Californians arrested for wanting to become militants LIH
Two residents of California, intending to become militants LIH, arrested in the United States. They are charged with conspiracy providing support to ISIS.
On Friday, the US Department of Justice announced that 24-year-old Mukhanad Badawi and Nader Elkhuzael planned to join the ranks of the terrorist group in the Middle East. Both were taken into custody on Thursday. One was detained at Los Angeles International Airport.
According to the investigation, Badawi and Elhuzael used social networks to discuss ISIL and terrorist attacks, and also expressed a desire to die as martyrs. In addition, they made preparations to send Elchael from the United States so that he could join the militants.
The Ministry of Justice’s statement said that Badaui and Elhusael discussed last month’s conversations that fighting for Allah and dying on the battlefield would be a blessing.
Elhuzael was detained at the Los Angeles airport, from where he planned to fly to Tel Aviv.
The detainee admitted that he was going to stay in Istanbul to join ISIS. To get to Israel, he did not plan.
If the court finds both arrested as guilty, Badaui and Elhuzael face imprisonment of up to 15 years.
