Plane engine caught fire during flight from Mexico to Los Angeles: passengers began to cry and pray
A flight from Mexico to Los Angeles, California, became terrifying for passengers when one of the plane's engines caught fire a few minutes after takeoff. Writes about it Independent.

A Viva Aerobus flight from Guadalajara to Los Angeles had to land shortly after takeoff when one of its engines caught fire.
Some passengers on the flight reported hearing an explosion about 10 minutes into the flight.

Understandably, the frightening scene caused passengers to panic. Some of them screamed, some wept, and others prayed as the pilot piloted the plane back to safety.
The airliner was in the air for only about 45 minutes, and no casualties were reported.
Viva Aerobus is investigating the incident, but in the meantime released a statement explaining the blaze as "an engine number two failure that caused sparks to fly due to metal friction," writes Metro.
“Control over the aircraft was constantly maintained,” the airline explained. “In addition, the crew provided timely and professional assistance to passengers who needed it.”

When the plane returned to Guadalajara, the passengers were placed in hotel rooms and their flights were rescheduled.
“We deeply regret the inconvenience this incident may have caused,” the airline said in a statement.
