The engine of the Delta aircraft smoked in flight. VIDEO
The Delta aircraft, which departed from the busiest airport in the world, made an emergency landing after one of the engines was observed to smoke.
Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta tweeted that "after 6 hours of the day, smoke was reportedly noticed in the engine of the departing aircraft."
The plane, which flew to London, "immediately returned", and officials to rescue aircraft and fire brigade (ARFF) "extinguished the aircraft engine."
The plane with passengers on board was towed back, the airport said. No injuries were reported.

Reporter Fox 5 Atlanta, who at the time of the accident was on board the aircraft, said that smoke was noticed almost half an hour after takeoff.
The incident occurred a day after the flight Southwest Airlines was forced make an emergency landing in Philadelphia after one of the aircraft's engines exploded in the air. One woman, who, according to passengers, partially pulled out of the window of the plane with a stream of air, died when part of the part of the destroyed engine hit her.
