The H-1B visa has served as an important bridge between skilled foreign labor and the American labor market. This includes many startups such as Stripe, Plaid, X and Carta that have taken advantage of the program to attract unique talent.
The H-1B visa program is the nation's largest temporary work visa program, serving more than 600 workers from 000 employers.
However, obtaining an H-1B visa remains challenging due to high demand. The program generates more interest than it can accommodate (the number of annual visas is limited to 85). The government uses a lottery to decide who will take part.
