While astronomers aren't sure, they believe the meteor shower is coming from Comet 96P/Machholz. The Delta Aquarii get their name from the constellation Aquarius because their source—the point from which the meteors appear to originate—is near the star Delta Aquarii.

The Delta Aquariids meteor shower can be seen from July 12 to August 23 and will peak this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (July 27-29) with approximately 20 meteors per hour. According to NASA, this meteor shower is best seen in the Southern Hemisphere.

What is the Alpha Capricornids meteor shower
The alpha capricornid meteor shower is usually seen from mid-July to mid-August and originates from Comet 169P / NEAT.

According to the American Meteor Society, alpha capricornids are active from July 2 to August 10 and peak between July 25 and 30, with about three visible meteors per hour. This rain is visible from the northern and southern hemispheres. Despite the fact that the rain does not have a very large number of meteors, it is known for the fact that it contains balls of fire.
